Dear readers, we apologize for the dip in content from Commonwealth. We’re not abandoning the cause of socialism in Montgomery County. It’s the opposite, we are preparing many new projects for a stronger future.
But for the time being, we’re only able to post a short list of “upcoming attractions” that are emerging on the horizon of MoCo political activity.
We’re preparing a piece on the importance of Marxist ideology, and a more general initiative to address political education through leftist, socialist, and Marxist thinkers.
We will, of course, continue to cover the Nancy Floreen subversion of the local Democratic Party but for now, the race between Floreen and Elrich is still calm.
Finally, we’re taking advice from our forebears, “[b]efore we can unite, and in order that we may unite, we must first of all draw firm and definite lines of demarcation,” (Declaration of the Editorial Board of Iskra) That is to say, we hope to analyze the different social and political movements in the county. Assessing where the different movements derive their power, their class composition, and areas of advocacy is a crucial to investigate if the insurgent left movement of Montgomery County is to grow.
Sometime during all of this, we are going to try and revamp our website design. Maybe even check the couch cushions for enough change to put towards buying our own domain name.
We remind readers that we appreciate all contributions to Commonwealth. We’re happy to post, or repost with permission, the work of local leftists that address or respond to matters pertaining to Montgomery County, to Maryland, or to the left more generally.
We were just given permission by a duo of Montgomery County leftists to repost their response to the Lower Shore Progressive Caucus on the progressive nature of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (or lack thereof). That’ll be up on the blog shortly.
As always, we appreciate our readers, their comments/contributions, and their work for the cause of socialism!
